Prehistoric Artifact Consulting

Please hit the About, Services and Testimonials links to see photos of authentic ancient artifacts. Let us help you make informed decisions in what is a fun but challenging Hobby. Together we can put an end to artifact fraud. Let’s start with the largest online auction site. There are thousands of fake native American artifacts being sold every year with good stories and phony Coa’s. There are multiple sellers selling high-quality reproduction artifacts online as ancient, that were made last week or last year. These include reproduction flint Clovis blades, Dovetail blades, fake axes, fake steatite pipes, fake birdstones, and even fake discoidals and more. These sellers are defrauding unwary buyers on a massive scale, and it has been going on for years. BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN BUYING INDIAN ARTIFACTS. TRY TO ATTEND ARIFACT SHOWS AND MEET EXPERIENCED COLLCTORS BEFORE YOU INVEST MONEY IN ANCIENT ARTIFACTS!

This pipe was dated by the “Great Pipe” collector from Indiana at AD 1280. Jan Sorenfrei, from Northern Ohio, one of the GOAT’s; told me that the lines running down the left wing represented “feathers”.

Notice the ancient hand wear and hand stain on the left side of the Pipe. The tobacco colors brown and gold are unique to ancient steatite pipes, sometime seen on ancient tube pipes. The marks at the base of the beak are saw marks that did not get polished out by the maker; probably done with a copper tool.
